Meet Dr. Skylar Mayberry-Mayes
Proud alumnus of Davenport Community School District, the University of Northern Iowa (Finance), Iowa State University (MBA), and Drake University (PhD in Education).
Aligning his passions with his career, Skylar serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Northern Iowa and as Executive Director of The Jacobson Institute at Grand View University, supporting career growth and transitions for students and working professionals.
Committed to improving the community, Skylar has a record of civic engagement, serving on boards for organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, Oakridge Neighborhood, Des Moines Public Schools, UNI@DMACC advocacy council, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Iowa Department of Human Services, among others.
Recognized for his community and educational impact, including being listed as a Forbes® Scholar, NAACP Visionary Leader in Education, Who’s Who in American Education, President's Volunteer Service Award, and Business Record's 40 Under 40, among others.
